Riso Optical Stimulated Luminescence Reader
Product Information
The RisØ TL/OSL reader allows automating the measurement of thermoluminescence (TL) and optically stimulated luminescence (OSL) signals. In addition to being highly sensitive, the measurement system includes a reference radiation source and is used to determine radiation doses in natural and artificial materials used in archaeological and geological dating, forensic and radiation protection applications. With its several-stage coupling design, it allows investigation of luminescence physics in different phosphors and dosimeters.

With its several-stage coupling design, it allows investigation of luminescence physics in different phosphors and dosimeters. The device, which initially only made TL measurements, was later developed to automate OSL measurements and is used in many research laboratories around the world.
luminescence
The atoms or molecules of a substance are excited and become unstable when that substance receives energy. Excited atoms and molecules tend to go to the ground state by shedding this extra energy they have gained.
